One of Heist’s most sought-after designer collections is Rag & Bone. Founded by British designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, Rag & Bone was founded on the ideals of conscientious manufacturing. Wainwright and Neville felt that quality product could only be created by a return to true craftsmanship and attention to detail. In order to achieve this, they went against the typical manufacturing grain and avoided supporting sweatshops overseas. The designing duo headed to a Kentucky factory to learn the basics of creating top quality clothing and successfully launched their line. To this day, all Rag & Bone clothing is manufactured in the United States.
When dreaming up their clothing designs, Wainwright and Neville wanted to craft a collection of clothing that people they know could wear every day. The result was an initial focus on jeans, the most basic item in wardrobes around the world. Rag & Bone’s quality premium denim consequently catapulted their fledgling brand into the style spotlight.
The brand turned their goal into a thriving designer line by focusing on a return to fundamentals. After their early success, Rag & Bone branched out into the broader category of men’s wear two years later in 2004 and finally launched their popular women’s collection in Fall 2005. Their women’s clothing is characterized by the same impeccable fit and British tailoring as their denim and men’s wear. Consequently, Rag & Bone has quickly made a name for itself in quality women’s sportswear. Customer favorites include their simple yet chic little black dresses, many of which are carried by Heist. |
